Barbara Anna Husar

Barbara Husar

Barbara Husar is continuously developing the extensive body of work titled ‘DATA EXCHANGE’ during her travels in the Sinai desert, which she has been undertaking since 1996.

Her starting point is the drawing. Husar offers a readable symbolic language by using images such as a goat, a fire pit, Marilyn Monroe etc. as symbols of different cultural circles with their interfaces wherein she finds her place. The central emblem she uses to illustrate this exchange of information is the umbilical cords that Husar obtains from her own herd of goats.
